Last Minute Sale!

We're having a last minute sale! All orders must be in by Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Wednesday will be the last day we mail off orders before we go on vacation. Also, we will be raising the price of our prints in 2011 so this will be the last time you can get them at these prices!

Making Christmas - Embroidery!

I don't want to give away what I'm making for people this Christmas but a few of my friends will receive some embroidery pieces. The above are just some ideas...the bottom left strawberry I did last year for my mother in-law. If you've never embroidered before don't be intimidated...it's super easy. I would suggest getting a starter kit like this one from Sublime Stitching/Jenny Hart. There is also a very helpful how-to section on her site here. If you don't have the time or embroidering isn't up your alley there are a number of artists on etsy. A couple of my favorites are The Merriweather Council and Miniature Rhino...check em out!

I'm taking my girl ice skating on Saturday! Can't wait! It will be her first time and I haven't been in probably fifteen years. We won't look as lovely as these ladies but we can pretend!

Elvis P. vs. Kenny G.

Recently I heard on the radio someone say that Kenny G. has the biggest selling Christmas album of all time. Surely, I thought to myself, Elvis or maybe Bing Crosby must hold that record so I did a little research. I found that Elvis' Christmas Album (1957) has been certified (by the Recording Industry Association of America ) for shipments of more than 12 million units whereas Kenny G.'s Miracles: The Holiday Album has sold 7,215,000 copies as of December 29, 2009 according to actual scans by Nielsen Soundscan (1991-present). If 3 million of Elvis' album were shipped in 1957 and another 9 million for the 1970 re-issue, despite not having the actual barcode scans, Elvis is clearly the winner. Kenny G. blows don't let anyone tell you differently...this spread of misinformation needs to be stopped. I encourage everyone to go out and buy Elvis' Christmas Album this holiday season for yourself or for someone in need and put the rightful King of Christmas back in his thrown.
