Making Christmas Part 1

This Christmas, like so many before, we are making a lot of our gifts. I'll be sharing some of these ideas periodically until the big day. Most of these projects take little time (most only a couple hours) and you don't need to be a master crafter or artist to do them. This is what I think the holiday is all about it or what it should be about...taking the time to really put your heart and mind into making something for someone you love whether it be food, an ornament, mixed tape or whatever!

Not that we won't be purchasing stuff as well but we will be stepping up our support of fellow artists, crafters and independently owned businesses. We've done this for years but it's especially important now in terms of our country's economic recovery. This is something anyone can do to help boost the local and national economy...shop at local non-chain stores, buy handmade local or U.S. made goods either in your local community or online. And it's not just that....you're supporting individuals and getting unique items that you can't get just anywhere. Anyway..I'm stepping off my soapbox now...on with X-mas Craft Numero Uno...

New Tarot Print!

Mr. Hare's newest tarot print is done! The first print of The Lovers or L'Amoureux can be found in our etsy shop horseandhare. The Lovers are the sixth of the Major Arcana cards. They obviously represent relationships, passion, sexuality and temptation as denoted by the snake symbol.

Busy Busy...

I feel like I've been slacking on the blog front. We've been busy around here..in addition to our full time gigs and etsy stuff we've been working on a number of side projects one of which is an album cover Neil and I collaborated on. I can't wait to share it with you but that will have to be at a later date!

Speaking of records...over the weekend we went to our town of Winchester's First Friday event at the Winchester Book Gallery. Our friend Nate Rhodes has started a little vinyl section there called Chester Records. It's a modest but eclectic selection. You never know what you might find so if you're in the area you should check it out! I picked up Mission of Burma, VS. and won a gift certificate! Thanks again Nate!

Dioraaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmaaaaaaaaaa! Our daughter was recently assigned to do a diorama of a lion's habitat. Of course she had a little help from mom and dad. We started it yesterday, then she and Neil finished it today while I was at work. I love it, especially the unfortunate zebra.
